FROM THE DESK OF THE CHAIRPERSON OF DHAMANGAON EDUCATION SOCIETY

I take pride in recounting that Dhamangaon Education Society, one of the earliest educational foundations in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra known for promoting and spreading the sacred cause of education has entered its 100th year on 151 April
2013 and is poised to celebrate its Centenary in the coming months.

A small seed of knowledge in the form of A. V. School sown in 1911 by its founding father, late Shri Shivnarayanji Agrawal, a philanthropist and a visionary proved to be a stepping stone in the fulfilment of his earnest desire of setting up of an educational alliance in Dhamangaon named as Dhamangaon Education Society in 1914. He was supported in his endeavor by his like-minded contemporaries

Later the gradual inception of various institutions of D.ES. was possible with the zealous and ardent efforts of the founding father and all the subsequent and successive Presidents and members of DES. Besides, it was the fervour and commitment of late Shri Laxminarayanji Agrawal, the ex-President of DES. and the prime architect of its institutions that has made the Society as what one sees today. His legacy endures. Thus after the gradual sprouting, the seed has over the years grown into a large Banyan
having 15 institutions as its branches imparting instructions ranging from nursery to post graduate level covering wide varieties of disciplines including engineering and technical education. This Banyan in the form of DES under its tranquil shadow is quenching the thirst for knowledge of thousands of aspirants.

I am well familiar with the clone association of so many years of Respected Shri Alsidasji Rathi (Babuji) with DES, a fatherly figure, apart from bring its immediate Ex-President and now the senior executive member. He has always been a source of inspiration and guidance for us. His unrivalled contribution in the growth of the Society has experienced new heights. I shall ever hold him in high reverence and shall carry his debt of gratitude joyfully.

Dhamangaon Education Society has ever adhered to the ideals set forth by its loyal and idealistic predecessors. It has indeed sustained its slow but steady progress because of the munificence of its admires and well wishers. The very goal of action of the Society as proved concussively by
s constitution is to provide adequate facilities of learning to its students at an affordable cost. The Society has an unflinching belief in charity.

Dhamangaon Education Society owes its excellent reputation and academic glory to its well planned strategy supported by healthy and transparent practices, both in academics and administration besides the democratic way of working of the management.

I feel honored in mentioning that some of our students who have come off with flying colors from the respective institutes of the Society have received recognition as engineers, specialized medical consultants, scientists, police officers, administrators, literary giants, entrepreneur
teachers, social workers and politician.

It is our prime objective to pursue excellence in our work by synergizing the efforts of all of us. There had been plenty of activities and ample to look forward to. I am confident that with the support and active co-operation of all we shall be able to rise to the occasion to meet the future
needs and challenges of the academic circle.

I myself along with the associates of DES feel extremely delighted to have an opportunity to commemorate the Centenary of this educational foundation, it is a festive and eventful occasion, it is an opportune time for us to recapitulate the efforts and sacrifices of our forefathers in
bounding and growing this academic alliance and also a befitting occasion to redeem our solemn prone to carry forth the dreams and aspirations cherished by them.

An event like Centenary Celebration of any organization is a stupendous task and cannot be observed without the whole hearted co-operation, coordinated efforts and philanthropy of every individual associated with the organization. I believe that we all are strongly united and not only
used to but also avid for such ventures. The prearrangements of this gala are already underway and are aptly making headway. In the context of this infrequent event) would see to accept to all those associated with D. ES to extend the valuable co-operation in making the
commemoration a great success and be the part of this memorable mega celebration

I would also like to take this opportunity to place on record my cordial words of appreciation for the enthusiastic and dedicated office bearers and the members of the executive council of Dhamangaon education Society for extending me their moral support in its active.
